dead battery

Well everything has been great up till now as far as getting my car completely redone. The last couple of weeks I will go to start my car and the battery is dead. The first time it happened I jump started it and didn't have a problem all week, (driving to work and back). Now it seems that it will not stay charged overnight. I took it to the dealer today and they said the battery and altenator are fine. But they found a constant 12v drain, (even when nothing is on). Since I have all the aftermarket lights on the car they won't touch it. Right now its at an auto electric shop being looked at. I will let you know what happens.

Latest update

They are still working on it but here is the lastest update for those trying to find the same problem. I just got off the phone with the electric shop and he thinks he has narrowed it down to the igntion switch. I think this going to cost a bunch, (I hope not) but they have an $80 hour charge sign on the wall. I'm sitting here watching the clock go "tick" "cha-ching" "tick" "cha-ching"

Finialy found out what was wrong. 3 days, $300 dollars, a trip to the dealer and the auto electric shop later. It seems the new underbody lights were the source of the contant draw of 5v's. This is even if you never turn them on. They were designed that way. So if you don't drive your car in two or three days it's enough to drain your battery,(this all happened the three day weekend I was off for Martin Luther Kings birthday). The latest set they are selling are made to be put on limos that have special systems to run all the tv's, bars and disco lights. These people would never notice the contant voltage drop or anything because of these systems. But since I only have the one battery, mine goes dead in a short time. They wound up putting in a switch so I can turn it off while its parked and not in use. The company is LEDGLOW and they have the advanced 3 million wireless underbody kit with wheelwell lights on sale for $299. So if you are having a similar problem, you might want to check this out. Looks like my next project is installing a second battery system.
